Applewood baking planks are a Northwest favorite for salmon, or any kind of fish or meat. Applewood planks take a higher heat than cedar. Applewood is not porous like cedar, so when used for baking, the plank is easier to clean and each plank is reusable up to 15-20 times. Just clean the plank with soap and warm water, rinse and dry after each use.

Our natural Applewood planks come from orchards in the heart of apple country in lush Yakima Valley, Washington. The wood is dried for at least two years and then selectively cut into beautiful planks.

Gourmet Recipe - Appleplank Salmon Fillet

Soak plank in water for an hour before baking. Sprinkle salmon fillet with a little olive oil and J's Salmon Rub. Add drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Top with fresh dill if you like. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, for a 1" fillet, or until fish is opaque.

Special Hint!  Any fresh lemon will do, but Meyer Lemons are delicious with salmon. You can freeze the lemons whole, then when you're ready to use one, just microwave it for 30 seconds.
